I love Portraits. I love Portraits of strangers. Even more when I ask them if I can take a picture of them and they say yes with a smile. And even more when they get interested about what i’m doing.
These two persons are the owners of the bakery right next to my apartment. Really nice people, I always go there to get my dough to make home made pizzas. One day I had my K1000 and decided to ask Gilbert if I could photograph him and he asked me “why do you want my picture?” with a smile. I told him that it was just for fun, that it was my hobby, my passion.I took the picture then we talked for a while about the neighborhood, his bakery etc. etc..
One other day I had my Minolta Hi-Matic 2 Point-and-Shoot camera to test it out (I had it for like 3-4 years on my shelf and never tried it!) and had to go there so I took her portrait.
Here’s the couple !
First picture: Pentax K1000/50mm – HP5+ 400iso
Second Picture: Minolta Hi-Matic2 – Delta 100iso pushed to 200.
Yes! I just got my adaptor for my 5DmkII to put on Om Lenses!
these pictures aren’t Street Photo connected but I just wanted to test it out!
I often use my smaller cameras (Pentax K1000, OM-1, Fuji x100 etc..) to shoot street photography but sometimes my 5D is fun to use too.
Plus I didn’t have a 50mm lens for my digital cameras.
I also have a 28mm.
This gon’ be a lot of fun!
In July 2013 I spent a few days skating and shooting with my old friend Antoine and phil among with others.
Couple guys from the states went down to shoot in Montreal. I had the chance to shoot some with Jake Johnson and Yonnie Cruz.
They very talented skateboarders and as a skater myself (Well… I used to skate more in my young days (yeah at 24 i’m an old man)) I liked to shoot them skating but as a photographer I was more attracted to shooting anything else.

This picture was taken on the 11th of February 2014 in Montreal, Canada. You can see how cold it was that day just by looking at this guy’s clothes. I was walking from other side of the street with my camera snappin’ pictures then I looked across the street and saw this guy. He immediately waved at me, smiling. I crossed the street to go see him. I saw he was smoking a cigarette so I asked him if he had some more for later on. he opened his hand and showed me 2 more cigarettes, indian ones (they taste like shit) so I told him “here’s some more, and better one” he took it, light it up with the one he was already smoking then threw the other one out then smiled. I knew it made him happy. I asked him if I could take some pictures of him. No hesitation he said yes and started posing. I know it didn’t take him out of the streets but I think this brief moment of interaction added a little positive in our lives and made him feel like he was still someone by not being ignored like most people does when they see homeless people.
